PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This online activity will cover ways in which the healthcare team can minimize the risk for hypoglycemia in patients with type 2 diabetes.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This educational activity is intended for primary care physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, certified diabetes educators and other HCPs who care for patients with diabetes.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:

  • Discuss the mechanisms of action of available agents and the clinical data supporting their appropriate use in the management of T2DM
  • Review the implications of hypoglycemia on both short- and long-term outcomes for individuals with T2DM
  • Describe strategies for both the primary care provider and the patient with T2DM to prevent hypoglycemic events
