PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This online program is designed to help primary care clinicians who manage patients who have or are at risk for diabetic eye disease. Learn about the importance of early detection and recommended screening guidelines, how to identify patients at higher risk for diabetic eye disease, and multidisciplinary management options to help patients with diabetes preserve vision.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of primary care providers who manage patients who have or are at risk for diabetic eye disease.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After completing the CME activity, learners should be better able to:
- Examine the importance of early detection and referral of diabetic eye disease
- Evaluate patients at risk for the development and/or progression of diabetic retinopathy (DR)
- Identify strategies to incorporate multidisciplinary management of DR with the eye care team
- Assess how early treatment of DR can help preserve vision in diabetes
