PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This whiteboard preceptorship is focused on the assessment and management of patients with hemophilia.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of hematologists and emergency medicine physicians who treat patients with hemophilia A or B.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
On completing this program, attendees should be able to:
- Assess traditional management approaches for patients with hemophilia
- Describe the mechanisms of action and efficacy and safety profiles of recently-approved and emerging non-factor replacement therapies for patients with hemophilia
- Implement individualized prophylaxis management strategies using non-factor replacement therapies based on patient characteristics
- Adopt patient-centered, shared decision making approaches to the management of hemophilia
