PROGRAM OVERVIEW
MedGames is a comprehensive and interactive gamification-based CME activity that presents important topics in obesity in a fun and engaging manner. It covers the pathophysiology of obesity, strategies for overcoming weight bias in healthcare, and evidence-based guidelines for obesity treatment. This program is hosted by Ken Jennings, the guest host of a popular game show, and features an expert in obesity management, Dr Fatima Stanford.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This educational activity is intended for clinicians (including family practice physicians, internists, pediatricians, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, and nutritionists) who provide primary care services for patients with obesity.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:
- Describe the metabolic and hormonal pathways responsible for the development and chronicity of obesity
- Implement non-stigmatizing communication strategies that facilitate engagement and lead to the provision of appropriate obesity treatment
- Apply evidence-based guidelines and current clinical data to the diagnosis and treatment of patients with obesity
- Assess the rationale for the use of pharmacotherapy in the treatment of patients with obesity
ACCREDITATION STATEMENT
