PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This TeleECHO program will focus on applying clear, patient-centered communication and reliable tracking systems to reduce missed or overdue CRC screenings. Faculty will review the performance characteristics, recommended intervals, and appropriate follow-up pathways for stool- and blood-based screening options to help clinicians select and sequence tests that maximize early detection while aligning with patient preferences. Through case-based learning, participants will build confidence in integrating CRC screening tests and communication tools into routine care to improve screening completion and outcomes.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is intended for primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, with secondary relevance for gastroenterologists and advanced practice providers specializing in gastroenterology.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:
- Integrate guideline-based criteria to select optimal CRC screening strategies for average-risk patients
- Utilize stool-based CRC screening tests with consideration for performance characteristics, screening intervals, and follow-up pathways
- Apply evidence-based communication and tracking tools to reduce missed CRC screenings
