PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This live activity is designed to help US-based healthcare professionals recognize the physiological underpinnings of obesity and use evidence-based strategies for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of people with obesity. Along with didactic instruction, this activity will include case studies with Q&A to provide practice identifying patients who would benefit from obesity diagnosis and treatment, ultimately improving outcomes of patients affected by this complex, chronic disease.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:
- Evaluate the physiological pathways that defend against weight loss and promote weight regain
- Select diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for patients with obesity based on guidelines and clinical evidence
- Assess the safety, efficacy and mechanisms of available and emerging anti-obesity medications
- Implement shared decision making and motivational communications strategies in discussions with patients about obesity
TARGET AUDIENCE
This educational activity is intended for US-based primary care physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners who treat people with obesity.
