PROGRAM OVERVIEW
MedGames is a comprehensive and interactive gamification-based CME activity that presents important topics about Nontuberculous Mycobacterial Lung Disease (NTM-LD) in a fun and engaging manner. It covers the NTM species most commonly associated with lung disease; who’s at risk, the laboratory, radiologic, and clinical findings used to diagnose NTM-lung disease and how to individualize treatment based on the 2020 clinical guidelines. The program also includes multidisciplinary strategies to mitigate drug-related toxicities from combination therapy to facilitate treatment completion. This program is hosted by Ken Jennings, the new host of a popular game show, and features Wendi K. Drummond DO, MPH and Colin Swenson, MD, experts in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of NTM-LD.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This educational activity is designed to meet the needs of pulmonology and infectious disease professionals and (including MDs, DOs, NPs, PAs and pharmacists) who have a role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with NTM-LD.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:
- Apply laboratory, radiologic and clinical findings to the diagnosis of patients with suspected NTM-LD
- Select treatments for patients with NTM-LD specific to the causative NTM species
- Design individualized treatment plans for patients with NTM-LD based on up-to-date guidelines and recent clinical data
- Incorporate strategies to decrease drug‐related toxicities in patients with NTM-LD and facilitate completion of therapy
