PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This educational program focuses on next generation sequencing (NGS) panels, which are increasingly used to guide therapy in patients with cancer. The program will address when and how these panels should be used, as well as their impact on the clinical course of cancer. Additionally, the content will look at the variety and types of genomic assays available and how to use them to complement clinical judgement in patients with cancer.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of U.S.-based medical oncologists and pathologists who care for patients with cancer.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:

  • Summarize the need for implementation of next-generation sequencing (NGS)-based comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) technologies in oncology care
  • Evaluate the features of genomic assays, including broader-scale assays, such as CGP, in contrast to narrower assays
  • Recognize current options for incorporating NGS-based CGP into multidisciplinary clinical practice
