This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of primarily dermatologists, oncodermatologists, and also medical oncologists, Mohs surgeons, and other healthcare practitioners who care for patients with advanced/metastatic basal cell skin cancer.
After completing the CME activity, learners should be better able to:
- Review the roles of both aberrant pathways and immune dysfunction in the pathogenesis of BCC
- Describe grading, staging, biopsy techniques, and treatment of basal cell carcinoma from low to high risk
- Apply the AAD practice guidelines for a multi-disciplinary approach to treatment of locally advanced and metastatic BCC
- Discuss late stage immunotherapy trial data in the treatment of patients with advanced or metastatic basal cell skin cancer
