PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This live symposium is designed to equip multidisciplinary clinicians and healthcare providers with the essential knowledge to navigate the transformative landscape of CAR T-cell therapy for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), particularly in the community setting. Participants will explore the underlying biological rationale and mechanisms of action of this novel therapeutic approach, as well as a rigorous evaluation of the latest clinical efficacy and safety data from emerging trials. Beyond the science, the program emphasizes practical application through shared decision-making (SDM) strategies, enabling clinicians to accurately identify appropriate candidates for CAR-T therapy, manage patient expectations, and provide expert counseling on the monitoring and mitigation of potential adverse events.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of US-based rheumatologists, rheumatology APPs (including NPs and PAs), nephrologists, and hematologists involved in the management of patients with SLE, especially in the community setting.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:
- Summarize the rationale and mechanisms of action for CAR T-cell therapy in SLE
- Evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety data for emerging CAR-T therapies in SLE
- Employ SDM best practices to identify patients with SLE who may benefit from CAR-T therapy and counsel patients about AEs and treatment expectations
