OVERVIEW
This engaging Podcast Series explores different facets of integrating advances in identifying and treating HER2-mutant NSCLC. In the first of three podcasts, expert faculty discuss the distinct HER2 pathologic alterations identified in NSCLC patients including their prevalence and associated clinical characteristics. The second podcast examines the importance of comprehensive molecular profiling to improve outcomes in HER2-altered NSCLC including challenges faced in integrating diagnostic testing in the community setting. The final podcast in the series evaluates treatment sequencing strategies for advanced HER2-mutant NSCLC including new approvals for HER2-directed tyrosine kinase inhibitors as well as patient-specific factors that guide incorporation of these targeted treatments in first-line and beyond lines of therapy to improve efficacy and safety.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of community clinicians involved in the evaluation and management of patients with lung cancer including oncologists, nurses/nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:
- Describe the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) alterations in HER2-mutant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) as well as the prevalence, patient population, and burden of disease
