PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This enduring activity will cover the treatment and management of patients who are overweight or obese and have osteoarthritis of the knee.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Assess evidence on the correlation between weight loss and improvements in osteoarthritis of the knee, including joint function and pain
- Evaluate clinical trial data on the efficacy and safety of current and emerging pharmacologic therapies for the management of obesity
- Incorporate guideline recommendations, patient-specific factors, and clinical trial data into treatment plans for the management of co-morbid obesity and osteoarthritis of the knee
TARGET AUDIENCE
This educational activity is intended for rheumatologists, orthopedic surgeons, endocrinologists, primary care physicians, and other healthcare professionals who diagnose, treat, and manage overweight and obese patients with osteoarthritis of the knee.
