PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This enduring activity for retina specialists and other eye care professionals focuses on managing geographic atrophy (GA) in age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Experts will review GA pathophysiology, including the complement cascade, and the use of advanced imaging for diagnosis and monitoring. The program covers emerging therapies, clinical data, and practical approaches for integrating new treatments into patient-centered care, with strategies for assessing progression, overcoming barriers, and collaborating with general ophthalmologists.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Summarize imaging modalities, clinical presentation of progressive GA, and the role of the complement cascade in disease pathogenesis
- Apply clinical data for the management of GA
- Develop strategies to monitor and comanage GA patients with ophthalmologists
TARGET AUDIENCE
This program is designed to address the educational needs of the retina specialists who care for patients with GA secondary to AMD.
