PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This enduring activity is focused on the management and care of patients with hypercholesterolemia who are at high risk for cardiovascular disease.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This CME initiative is designed to meet the needs of lipidologists, cardiologists, endocrinologists, and other healthcare professionals involved in the management of patients at high risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD) due to hypercholesterolemia.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the program, attendees should be able to:
- Discuss how lowering LDL-C levels can reduce CVD risk in patients with persistently elevated cholesterol levels
- Review clinical trial data on nonstatin LDL-C–lowering agents in patients with persistently elevated LDL-C levels and evidence regarding their positioning in treatment regimens
- Describe best practices for identifying and managing patients with persistently elevated LDL-C levels and at high risk for CVD
