PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This program will explore the use of polyclonal and monoclonal antibody therapies for the treatment of patients with COVID-19. Innovative virtual reality animations will delve into the mechanism of action of antibody therapies, the impact of SARS-CoV-2 variants on treatment efficacy, and the role of dual monoclonal antibody cocktails in the prevention of viral escape.


TARGET AUDIENCE

The innovative continuing education and tools developed for COVID-19 FRONTLINE will be publicly available for the entire healthcare community to use. The proposed activities will primarily target frontline doctors, such as emergency physicians, urgent care physicians, and intensive care physicians, with a secondary audience of pulmonologists, infectious disease specialists, hospitalists, and hospital pharmacists to help support them in their effort to optimize care of patients with COVID-19.


LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:

  • Differentiate between polyclonal and monoclonal antibody therapies and evaluate clinical trial data on the efficacy and safety of these treatments
  • Compare and contrast biological implications of single and dual monoclonal antibody therapies and review the mechanism of action
  • Critique the efficacy and safety of single and dual monoclonal antibody therapies recently authorized for patients with COVID-19
