PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This case-based enduring activity will cover the treatment and management of patients with multiple sclerosis (MS).

TARGET AUDIENCE

This activity is designed to meet the needs of neurologists, nurses, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals treating patients with MS.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of the CME activity, learners should be better able to:

  • Describe the concept of shared decision-making (SDM) and its role in care of the MS patient
  • Define ways in which to improve patient engagement in their MS care through identification of patient preferences and the psychosocial impact of their disease, goal-setting, communication, and shared decision-making
  • Review treatment options for MS along with their roles in the individualized treatment of MS
