PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This engaging online enduring educational snapshot program provides clinicians with a review of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) pathophysiology and evidence-based diagnostic criteria essential for accurate, timely diagnosis of this complex disease of exclusion. Expert faculty will critically examine current treatment approaches, new FDA approvals, and emerging investigational targeted therapies poised to reshape the IPF treatment landscape. The program will also include a short whiteboard animation illustrating the distinct mechanisms of approved and investigational therapies, supporting deeper understanding of how new agents are redefining therapeutic approaches in IPF.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This educational enduring activity is designed to meet the needs of pulmonologists, internists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants involved in the treatment of patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:
- Explain the underlying mechanisms of lung injury and repair that contribute to the development of IPF
- Utilize the clinical criteria and diagnostic tools for identifying IPF, including focus on the importance of a multidisciplinary discussion
- Assess the clinical data for the current and emerging treatments for IPF, including the mechanism of action, efficacy, and limitations of therapy options
