PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This case-based simulcast will cover the treatment and management of patients with cardiovascular disease due to hypercholesterolemia.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This activity is intended for lipidologists, cardiologists, endocrinologists, and other healthcare professionals involved in the management of patients at high risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD) due to hypercholesterolemia.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of the CME activity, learners should be better able to:

  • Discuss how lowering LDL-C levels can reduce CVD risk in patients with persistently elevated cholesterol levels
  • Review clinical trial data on nonstatin LDL-C–lowering agents in patients with persistently elevated LDL-C levels and evidence regarding their positioning in treatment regimens
  • Describe best practices for identifying and managing patients with persistently elevated LDL-C levels and at high risk for CVD
