PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This evidence-based symposium explores the evolving landscape of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) exploring the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying this complex disease process, updated hemodynamic diagnostic thresholds, and how these mechanisms inform targeted therapies. Participants will examine the symptoms, clinical signs, and diagnostic approaches to facilitate earlier recognition of PAH and reduce diagnostic delays. The program will include didactic presentations by renowned experts, an animation, and case-based discussions to apply the latest evidence and guidelines to develop individualized approaches including strategic escalation of PAH-targeted therapies based on disease severity, risk, and treatment response.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of cardiologists, pulmonologists, and related APPs.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:
- Summarize key mechanisms underlying endothelial dysfunction, smooth muscle proliferation, and right ventricular remodeling in PAH, and their relevance to therapeutic targets and disease trajectory
- Apply guideline-aligned algorithms to evaluate patients with unexplained dyspnea or suspected PAH, incorporating appropriate use of screening and diagnostic tools
- Incorporate trial data, safety considerations, and patient-specific factors when selecting therapies in accordance with guideline recommendations
