PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This educational activity will target healthcare providers who care for patients at risk for or experiencing anaphylaxis. The program is designed to strengthen clinicians’ knowledge and skills in selecting and appropriately administering available emergency epinephrine delivery devices by reviewing their characteristics, indications, and device-specific administration requirements. In addition, the activity will emphasize the importance of multidisciplinary care and shared decision-making to address patient preferences, mental health considerations, and individualized treatment planning to support optimal anaphylaxis management and preparedness.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of pediatricians, family physicians, pediatric NP/PAs, and pediatric allergists involved in the care of patients with type 1 allergies/anaphylaxis.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:
- Summarize characteristics, appropriate use, and device-specific administration requirements of epinephrine device options
- Adopt multidisciplinary care and shared decision-making to address mental health and patient preferences
