PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This virtual preceptorship provides a broad-based approach to the diagnosis and targeted treatment of fibrosing interstitial lung diseases (F-ILD), including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and progressive pulmonary fibrosis (PPF). Expert faculty guide learners through the spectrum of clinical characteristics and histopathologic patterns of F-ILD and demonstrate how pattern recognition at the bedside and on HRCT can accelerate appropriate referral and reduce diagnostic delay.
Through a longitudinal patient case, learners will apply structured diagnostic workflows encompassing pulmonary function testing, autoimmune serologies, multidisciplinary team discussion, and guideline criteria to arrive at an accurate diagnosis and individualized treatment plan. The program evaluates current and emerging antifibrotic therapy trial data and addresses shared decision-making and quality-of-life interventions to support comprehensive, patient-centered care across the F-ILD disease trajectory.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of pulmonologists as well as related NPs and PAs.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:
- Describe clinical characteristics for F-ILD/PPF
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for a complete diagnostic workup for F-ILD/PPF
- Evaluate clinical data for current and emerging therapies and effective treatment strategies for patients with F-ILD/PPF
