PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This educational program aims to increase the use of recommended diagnostic and treatment strategies for obesity in the specialist and primary care settings and engage patients in shared decision making when devising weight reduction strategies, ultimately improving the health outcomes of patients with obesity.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This educational activity is intended for obesity specialists, endocrinologists, primary care physicians, and nurses on a global level, particularly in Germany, Italy, Spain, France, China, Japan, Brazil, UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:
- Explain the biological mechanisms that defend body weight and encourage weight regain following diet-induced weight loss
- Provide evidence-based diagnosis and treatment for patients with obesity based on up-to-date guidelines and clinical data
- Compare the safety and efficacy of established and emerging antiobesity medications
- Engage patients in shared decision making when selecting weight reduction strategies
