TARGET AUDIENCE

This educational activity is intended for dermatology professionals who care for patients with alopecia areata.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

After completing the CME activity, learners should be better able to:

    • Distinguish between the pathophysiology of alopecia areata and other causes of hair loss
    • Use clinical trial data on the efficacy, safety, and durability of JAK inhibitors to recognize patients with AA who may benefit from these therapies
    • Identify risk factors for disease progression and poor prognosis in patients with AA
    • Develop treatment regimens for patients with AA that consider the psychosocial burden of the disease and associated autoimmune disorders
