The THRIVE Beyond Glycemic Control Initiative: A Spotlight on Hypoglycemia: Reducing Risks Without Compromising Glycemic Control

This enduring activity will cover ways in which the healthcare team can minimize the risk for hypoglycemia in patients with type 2 diabetes. Specifically, our aims will be to review the consequences of hypoglycemia; discuss approaches to assessing symptomatic and asymptomatic risk of hypoglycemia; assess anti-diabetes therapies and how to balance their safety and efficacy to reduce hypoglycemia; and evaluate nonpharmacological strategies for lowering risk.
