PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This Immersive Simulation Experience in diabetic retinopathy (DR), neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) and retinal vein occlusion (RVO) allows learners to engage in clinical decision-making to individualize treatment with anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) therapies. By participating in this simulated 3D encounter, you will observe patient-provider interactions and use pertinent information from the patients’ electronic chart to decide the next best course of action at various key points in care, including identifying eyes that may benefit from anti-VEGF treatment, incorporating assessment of efficacy and safety data into treatment decisions, and strategizing changes in treatment approach to achieve optimal outcomes.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of retina specialists, ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other healthcare providers who manage patients with diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and/or retinal vein occlusion.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Individualize patient treatment plans by selecting anti-VEGF agents for management of DR, nAMD, and RVO based on safety, efficacy, response, durability and patient factors.
  • Evaluate the safety profiles of approved anti-VEGF agents for DR, nAMD, and RVO
  • Improve evaluation and incorporation of safety data from clinical trials into treatment decisions
  • Identify patients with DR, nAMD, or RVO who could benefit from the adjustment of their current anti-VEGF regimens
