PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This virtual, live activity provides a comprehensive overview of the chronic disease of obesity and opportunities to improve the quality of care in the primary care setting. It incorporates a variety of interactive tools, including animations and case studies, to create a dynamic learning experience.

This educational activity is intended for US-based PCPs, PAs, and NPs who treat people with obesity.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:

  • Evaluate the physiological pathways that defend against weight loss and promote weight regain
  • Select diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for patients with obesity based on guidelines and clinical evidence
  • Assess the safety, efficacy and mechanisms of available and emerging antiobesity medications
  • Implement shared decision making and motivational communications strategies in discussions with patients about obesity
