PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This virtual, live activity provides a comprehensive overview of the chronic disease of obesity and opportunities to improve the quality of care in the primary care setting. TARGET AUDIENCE
This educational activity is intended for US-based PCPs, PAs, and NPs who treat people with obesity.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:
- Evaluate the physiological pathways that defend against weight loss and promote weight regain
- Select diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for patients with obesity based on guidelines and clinical evidence
- Assess the safety, efficacy and mechanisms of available and emerging antiobesity medications
- Implement shared decision making and motivational communications strategies in discussions with patients about obesity
