PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This gamification-based activity highlights the key characteristics of multi-cancer early detection technologies, including the relevance of specific plasma-based biomarkers and DNA methylation patterns in cancer. Participants will be able to recognize the importance of clinical data underlying the use of multi-cancer early detection technologies, and identify how to obtain and interpret available testing methods.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of primary care physicians, oncologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and pharmacists to ensure confidence in discussing multi-cancer early detection testing for population-based screening.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
On completing this program, attendees should be able to:
- Evaluate key characteristics of multi-cancer early detection technologies, including the relevance of specific plasma-based biomarkers and DNA methylation patterns in cancer
- Recognize the importance of clinical data underlying the use of multi-cancer early detection technologies, including the relevance of the concept of positive predictive value in such trials
- Assess relevant groups of patients who may be interested in multi-cancer early detection technologies to enable engagement in effective discussions with patients on characteristics of these tests
