PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The acute myeloid leukemia (AML) TeleECHO enduring program will explore strategies to promptly recognize, diagnose, and manage AML. This TeleECHO enduring provides a didactic programming in addition to case-based discussion on selecting therapeutic options and managing patients with AML.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This enduring activity is intended for community-based hematologists, medical oncologists, pathologists, oncology nurses, nurse practitioners, and pharmacists to ensure an up-to-date understanding of the latest data on managing acute myeloid leukemia.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

After completing the CME activity, learners should be better able to:

  • Evaluate features of novel chemotherapy formulations to enhance safety and efficacy of treatment and the rationale for expanding use of induction chemotherapy in AML
  • Formulate best practices based on the latest evidence for selection of induction therapy in older adults with AML
  • Discuss best practices in use of induction chemotherapy in the context of stem cell transplant in the modern AML treatment paradigm
