This initiative is designed to meet the educational needs of dermatologists, dermatologic surgeons, medical oncologists, and other healthcare professionals involved in the treatment and management of patients with cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma.
After completing the CME activity, learners should be better able to:
- Compare the relative effectiveness of tumor staging systems for patients with cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) at high-risk of recurrence or metastasis
- Utilize tumor staging and risk evaluation to stratify candidates for Mohs micrographic surgery, standard excision, or nonsurgical interventions and discuss the benefits and risks of each therapeutic option
- Evaluate guidelines for surgical and pharmacologic treatment of cSCC based on clinical trial data
- Identify patients with unresectable cSCC who would benefit from targeted systemic therapy
This CME activity was planned and produced in accordance with the ACCME Essentials.
