PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This interactive TeleECHO program will examine the burden and unmet needs associated with asthma in the community; review guidelines for diagnosis and step-wise treatment; assess current targeted agents for moderate-to-severe cases of asthma; and present tips on choosing one therapy over another based on patient characteristics, workup, comorbidities, and other considerations. In addition, faculty will discuss case studies that are relevant and useful for everyday practice.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This innovative and community-based educational activity is designed to meet the identified needs of U.S.-based community-based clinicians including pulmonologists, respiratory technicians, and other health care providers involved in the care of adult and pediatric patients with moderate-to-severe asthma.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:
- Identify strategies to proactively manage uncontrolled asthma to reduce exacerbations and associated hospitalizations.
- Assess evidence-based, multidisciplinary strategies to improve patient education to reduce inadequate home care of asthma and exacerbations.
- Discuss the clinical evidence for recently approved and investigational agents for the potential treatment of moderate to severe asthma.
