This enduring activity is focused on the treatment and management of chronic heart failure.
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of cardiologists, internists, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other health care practitioners who care for patients with chronic heart failure.
After completing the CME activity, learners should be better able to:
- Review the hemodynamic dysregulation and neurohormonal disarray that characterize heart failure
- Describe the comorbid states that are both risk factors for heart failure and drivers of heart failure progression
- Discuss current clinical trial data demonstrating the appropriate use of pharmacologic interventions in patients with heart failure and reduced ejection fraction
- Review health care team communication tools and approaches to advance shared decision- making in managing HF
