PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This case-based enduring activity will cover the diagnosis, treatment and management of patients with Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD).

TARGET AUDIENCE

This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of gastroenterologists who treat patients with IBD.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of the program, attendees should be able to:

  • Describe the pathophysiology of IBD with an emphasis on the role of dysfunctional immunologic factors and pathways
  • Analyze the mechanisms of action underlying the safety and efficacy of current and emerging targeted treatment options for IBD, such as those targeting IL-23 and JAK
  • Implement strategies to improve physician adherence to national quality measures for patients with IBD in order to achieve optimal patient outcomes
